*laughs Go to a DMV office, they have a form to fill out, and you just hand it in. In a few days they'll get back to you and tell you if the plate is available. [They ask for three choices -- in case the first is taken, you have backup choices.] If you decide you want it, it's a one-time $50 registration fee.
